Redesigned and rebranded the flagship product of an overseas lawn and garden equipment OEM. Project stages included: rebranding of aesthetics through automotive-level surfacing, design for manufacturing, engineered optics design, and marketing asset creation. Product successfully rebranded without necessitating a change to any previous mechanical components

EXAMINATION
RESEARCH STAGE
The customer approached us for a refresh of their main product offering. Constraints were ease of manufacturing, durability, aesthetic appeal, and no change in mechanical components (drop-in design). below was the original design to be refreshed.

IDEATION
INTEGRATION STAGE
Ideation sketching was used to flesh out the sizing, aesthetics, and initial optics configuration. After discussing the options, the client picked a one-part bezel design direction to make assembly easier.

REALIZATION
ENGINEERING DESIGN
Below the complexity of the bezel can be seen. I used Class-A surfacing, design engineering principles, and optics design knowledge to bring the bezel from the concept stage to production via plastic injection molds.
